THE MIRACULOUS KARST
In the olden days, an imperial road led from Vienna to Trieste that passed through the Karst.
The Vienna merchants and other important citizens of Vienna always stopped and slept in the village of Lokev when they travelled to Trieste. It was an important stop for horse-drawn carts and also became famous as a very good energy point. Due to this special energy and the excellent terrain for horses a stud farm was established in the immediate vicinity of the village of Lokev, where the world-famous Lipizzaner horses are bred.
Today, this picturesque path is used by modern gourmet travellers and the lovers of nature and cultural heritage. They take a great interest in Lipica, the Vilenica Cave, the prosciutto producing facility, the defence tower with the military museum, the Škocjan Caves, the Museum of Slovenian Film Actors in Divača – or they take a walk through the Karst forests and enjoy the mysterious landscape.
If you do not want to go on a trip, you can take a walk through the Karst village, in which Krasna is situated.
